Anamaria Marinca, a Romanian-born actress. She made her debut on the huge screen with Sex Traffic by Channel 4, for which the British Academy Television Award was awarded to the best actress. She speaks fluently French, German and English. Her father is a theater instructor at one of Romania's top theater schools. In the Mangalia Gala of Young Actors, she won the Best Female Actor Award 2000. In 2008, the European Film Promotion Board named her as a European Shooting Star in 2008. Her role as a character in Cristian Mungiu's Romanian art film 4 luni 3 weeks si 2 zile (4 months 3 weeks and two days) was awarded the Palme d'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2007 and two more awards. The Cinema Prize for the French National Education System as well as the FIPRESCI Prize. Also, she appeared as an infant in the film of Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth. In 2008, she appeared as Yasim in Angwar, the BBC miniseries of five episodes The Last Enemy. Marinca was a character in Yasim's story as part of Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven, in addition to the Romanian film Boogie. Later, she had an important role in 2014's Fury where she played Irma the German Aunt of Emma.
