Carey was a fashion model. She is 5'10" tall and was well-liked by famous American designers such as Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, etc. In 1979 the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists elected her father Scientist of The Year. Her father was a scientist who travelled the globe as a part of his professional career. When she was attending an institution called the University of Colorado at part-time when she was discovered to be the target of the Ford model Agency representative in New York. Following her move to France and briefly resided at Paris, Bordeaux and New York, she decided to go back to New York and continue her education. Soon, Vogue, Glamour and other magazines featured her on their covers. In between modeling assignments she was enrolled in literature full time in New York University. After graduation, in New York she began to study acting. Her first acting experience was in an appearance alongside Robin Williams in the 1986 film "Club Paradise. She spends her free time skiing, white-water rafting, wind-surfing and climbing rocks.
