
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player is a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 alongside Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Shortly after graduating in the early years of the University of California, Berkeley where she was a player for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the time and played a major role in winning the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time and the youngest player on the national team for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal against Canada during the 123rd minute of the semi-final match at the 2012 London Olympics. She finished 2012 with 21 and 28 goals. assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and record 20 assists in the same calendar year , she became the sixth and youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan played a role in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was also included in the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
